Fresh, local produce, hearty pub grub, a la carte treats and more are on offer at the Lowes Arms.
The restaurant at the Lowes Arms is an integral part of what we offer to our visitors, providing a range of delicious food which is prepared on the premises by our experienced chef Gordon and his crack kitchen team. We offer everything from hot snacks and traditional hearty pub grub to fine dining and a bespoke buffet service. Look out for the specials on the blackboard in the main bar and the a la carte offerings available of Friday and Saturday night. Treats served up on these special nights include chicken and haggis in a whiskey cream sauce, pork belly roasted with apple and cinnamon on a bed of wholegrain mustard mash and fillet steak on toasted brioche topped with pate and served with a port and cranberry sauce.
The meals prepared at the Lowes Arms make extensive use of freshly sourced local ingredients – fish from Fleetwood, meat from the rolling green hills of Cumbria and, through the summer, fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit such as rhubarb grown on an allotment just ¾ mile down the road.
Treat yourself to one of the legendary Lowes Arms pies – a cheese and onion beauty that’s based on the chefs great grandmother’s recipe or a steak and ale pie cooked to a secret formula which has been handed down through landlord Peters family since 1898.
The restaurant is also available for private hire and the buffet service can be used for outside catering. Children are welcome to come and eat in the Lowes arms and are offered their own menu of delicious and affordable treats.
Whether you call in for a bumper cooked breakfast at the weekend, stop by for a quick lunch during the day or spend the evening exploring our main menu, you’ll be treated to food that combines quality and freshness with a commitment to value for money and a quest for culinary excellence.
